Our Ocean's Dilemma

The Ocean and coasts, that immense area inhabiting 70% of our planet and providing a whole 50% of the Earth’s total oxygen, has been silently bearing the brunt of our environmental crises for generations now.

It is the Ocean and coasts that have absorbed the heat from the climate crisis equivalent to 7 Hiroshima nuclear bombs every second 365 days a year, as it fends off any destructive increase to its waters from the perilous warming of our planet. The ocean suffers massive assaults of toxic pollutants, plastics and more. All this has taken a huge toll on the living sea, which MUST recuperate to survive.

We recognize that if we are to save our planet, our priority now must be to enable the Ocean and Coasts to Restore themselves to their optimal health or they will not survive, nor will we. We have learned and witnessed that a healthy ocean results in healthy economies all over our world. In this new era, we embrace how Crucial a Vibrant, Healthy Living Ocean is for Our Own Health and Economic Well-being.

The EcoCube represents the natural capital stocks of the ecosystem. It is a starting point in determining the baseline of natural capital in an area and will measure its prospective regeneration or deterioration. The EcoCube is the streamlined model representing nature state, its stocks, and flows occurring in the area. This will help determine where best to use non-renewable natural assets and how to foster both the regeneration of renewable natural capital and the restoration and renewal of nature, support biodiversity, climate action, and the well-being of humans and our fellow species.
